Transform 2019: Focus on Innovation

InfraBuild’s Rob Johnson and David McNeil will join industry leaders from Facebook, Frasers Property Australia, Cbus, Lendlease, Dexus and Nestle to share innovations and initiatives to drive sustainability and respond to climate change and disruption in the construction industry.

The Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) Transform Conference intends to inspire industry professionals to strive towards innovation in sustainability. Sponsored by InfraBuild (formerly LIBERTY OneSteel) and other major participants in the construction supply chain, Transform will explore innovations and initiatives in areas such as carbon, climate change resilience, sustainable supply chains and the ability of our housing market to create sustainable buildings, cities and communities for the future.

The conference will take place over two days from 19–20 March 2019 at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. According to the GBCA, “Transform will look at sustainability through the lens of innovation, with a holistic and deeper focus”.

InfraBuild leaders on the panel

InfraBuild Customer and Market Relationship Manager Rob Johnson will join a panel with leaders from GBCA and Nestle to discuss the importance of supply chain efficiency. Rob said: “Customers are demanding increased transparency and traceability through their supply chains to ensure compliance to standards and sustainability criteria. InfraBuild is focused on providing customers confidence that the product they receive is the product they have specified and ultimately that it meets their requirements.”

InfraBuild’s Customer Experience Manager, David McNeil, a member of the Australian Logistics Council’s Technology Committee, will join leaders from Westpac and Ausbil Investment Management on a panel to discuss best practices, tools and technologies in supply chain transformation. David said: “For over 15 years, GS1 standards, especially the GTIN, have been critical in InfraBuild’s efforts to facilitate electronic trading and product traceability. Now, as the construction market increasingly demands full traceability of products throughout the supply chain for both compliance and sustainability, the serialised GTIN and its integration into BIM is a logical and essential part of that journey.”

EPDs for sustainability

InfraBuild recognises the need for transparency about the environmental performance of its supply chain and products, and has published five Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that comply with the requirements of a valid EPD recognised in the Green Star Design Rating Tool (GBCA) and the IS® Rating Tool (Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia).
