Meet Vanessa Bhardwaj, our Data Scientist and Electronics and Communications Engineer at InfraBuild

Coinciding with World Engineering Day, we are taking the opportunity to kick start our International Women’s Day celebrations early by showcasing some of the outstanding women within our team.

Meet Vanessa Bhardwaj, our Data Scientist and Electronics and Communications Engineer at InfraBuild.

Vanessa kindly sat down with us to chat about her role here at InfraBuild, what drives her to succeed, and what advice she’d give to those looking to follow her career path.

“Steel manufacturing is a male dominated industry, but at the same time I’ve always encountered a very supportive, very inclusive environment here. So, bring an open mind, be assured that your skills do make an impact.

“Anything like analytics, programming, technical knowledge; even if you don’t have hands on experience and you’ve a very strong foundation, all of that will go a long way,” says Vanessa.

Continuing, Vanessa adds that becoming “comfortable with the uncertainty” is something she loves about data science.

“Data is uncertain, you don’t know when things will change, when the data will change, it’s extremely volatile and I think that’s what makes it really interesting and challenging at the same time,” she adds.
