Safety is part of our everyday at InfraBuild and across the past five years there has been significant improvements in our culture of safety.
A quick glance at our total recordable injury frequency rate – or TRIFR – indicates a more than 60% reduction, which is a fantastic result.
This is just part of the story. The commitment by teams across InfraBuild talking about safety and improving safety at worksites has led to a strong focus not just on safety elements but also a positive safety culture.
The safety awards we have been winning, such as the Worldsteel Association recognition of our safety program, is testament to the great work of everyone at InfraBuild rallying behind safety.
However, it is not just external recognition of our safety efforts that is worthy of mention.
Internally, we have our Annual InfraBuild Safety Award, a trophy that is awarded annually to the team who has the best safety performance.
This year Laverton Steel Mill are the winners as the most improved in the business across the past 12 months.
The teams at LSM were judged not only on the performance of lagging indicators, but also the efforts to build a culture of trust, the improvements in the proactive reporting culture and the discipline to deliver the safety actions in the FY24 scorecard.
Congratulations to everyone at Laverton Steel Mill.
InfraBuild CEO, Francisco Irazusta, along with Fran Nores, Global Head of Safety, joined Shane Murphy, EGM of Manufacturing and the team at LSM to present them with the award.
However, we cannot take safety for granted. We all must continue to lean in and play an active part in ensuring we are all safe.
