InfraBuild Wins Prestigious Worldsteel Award for Occupational Health and Well-being

17 October 2024

We are proud to announce that GFG Australia, which includes our two businesses InfraBuild and Liberty Primary Metals Australia, has been honoured by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) for our leadership in occupational health and well-being. Our program, ‘You Matter. We Care.’ was recognised as part of worldsteel’s annual Safety and Health Awards, an acknowledgment of our dedication to fostering a mentally healthy and supportive workplace.

At the heart of You Matter. We Care. is our commitment to three interconnected pillars: psychosocial risk management, mental health, and employee well-being. These pillars are the foundation of a workplace where our people are empowered to speak up, seek support, and take care of one another. Our motto, “You Matter. We Care. I’m Here to Listen,” reflects our focus on removing the stigma surrounding mental health and building a culture of trust and psychological safety.

This award represents the hard work of our teams across the business, who have embraced this program and played a critical role in making our workplaces safer and more inclusive. Speaking on this achievement, Fran Nores, Global Head of Safety, said, “At InfraBuild, we believe that creating a mentally healthy workplace is just as important as ensuring physical safety. This recognition from worldsteel highlights the importance of putting our people’s mental health at the forefront, and I’m incredibly proud of the commitment shown by our teams.”

Receiving this award is an important milestone, but it also reminds us of the ongoing journey we are on. We are committed to continuing to build an environment where mental health is openly discussed, and everyone feels valued and supported. Congratulations to our team who have contributed to the success of You Matter. We Care.
