InfraBuild has won a 2023 Australian Steel Institute’s (ASI) Steel Sustainability Award in the ‘Large Initiative Category’ for our Road to Sustainability Through Good Health and Safety initiative.
We’ve been on a transformative journey to reshape the safety culture since 2020. While we have set ambitious targets to see injuries and incidents a thing of the past, it’s our behaviour and approach to safety that has been the most transformative.
At InfraBuild, we take psychosocial safety just as seriously as physical safety. We’ve built a culture of trust, underpinned by genuinely caring that our teammates get home safe to their loved ones at the end of each workday.
Looking out for one another and intervening if someone is at risk and having an intergenerational outlook when making safety decisions are key parts of our safety culture. Quick fixes to issues are not an option – no task, target or activity is more important than the safety of our team.
We are so proud of what we have achieved together, and to be recognised as part of the ASI’s Sustainability Awards only further drives our effort to create a world-class safety culture. The award was announced at an online ceremony in February. Watch below to see our CEO Francisco Irazusta accepting the award.
