InfraBuild CEO Francisco Irazusta took the stage at the Australian Green Iron and Steel Forum in Perth, sharing our progress and ambitions in decarbonising steel.
Speaking to an audience of industry leaders, Francisco outlined the strides InfraBuild has already made, including the introduction of SENSE 600®—a reinforcing steel with lower embodied carbon compared to standard grade steel. He emphasised how this innovation is giving engineers and builders more sustainable choices without compromising strength or performance.
“Decarbonising steel is not just a long-term goal—it’s something we’re actively working on right now,” Francisco said. “SENSE 600® is a great example of how we’re reducing embodied carbon in construction without changing the way engineers and builders design with steel.”
Beyond sustainability, Francisco also highlighted InfraBuild’s strong local presence in Western Australia, with key capabilities in processing and fabricating steel for major construction and engineering projects. From commercial buildings to large-scale infrastructure, InfraBuild continues to support WA’s growth with locally processed and fabricated steel solutions.
The forum reinforced the importance of practical, scalable solutions in the transition to greener steel. With a focus on innovation and investment in lower-carbon manufacturing, InfraBuild remains committed to helping shape a more sustainable future for Australian steel.
