Staff from InfraBuild Australia were eager to discuss the essential role of steel in forging Australia’s built environment – as well as the latest in VR tech – at two of the country’s largest infrastructure events.
InfraBuild Australia spent a successful two days at two large events on the construction industry calendar: Australia’s Big Infrastructure Summit and the National Roads & Traffic Expo. Both were held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17–18 September.
InfraBuild Australia was a gold sponsor of the Infrastructure Summit, which brought together expert speakers and policy makers from the public and private sectors to discuss upcoming projects, challenges and opportunities in the infrastructure space.
The Roads & Traffic Expo was equally impressive in scope, with 300 speakers and 200 exhibitors there to discuss developments not just in traffic infrastructure, but traffic management, smart mobility, parking and safety. Among the experts to take the stage was Anthony Sive, Executive Managing Director of InfraBuild Construction Solutions.
Summit & Expo delegates took the opportunity to visit the InfraBuild Australia stand where they took part in an immersive virtual reality experience showcasing the pivotal role of InfraBuild steel in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
Andrew Dibley, InfraBuild Head of Digital Marketing & Customer Experience, said the virtual reality experience demonstrating the inner workings of a tunnel boring machine and of a high-rise construction site was an eye-opener for many delegates who tried the technology.
“InfraBuild is all about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, so exploring how major infrastructure and construction projects use our products using this game-changing technology is what we like to do,” he said.
“The VR experience aside, it was great to have had plenty of delegates come through the InfraBuild stand to discuss the important role of steel in building Australian infrastructure.”
